EXHIBIT "B"
SITE DESCRIPTION
(a) "Description of the vegetation and soil characteristics"
Attached aze descriptions of the 2 soil types from the Fremont County Soil Conservation Service.
They are Boyle and Boyle-Martindale. Information sheets aze attached for these two.
The vegetation is typical of that in the local Loamy Foothills and is described as in Fair Condition.
Grasses include Blue grams, bottlebrush, squin•eltail, sand dropseed, prairie June grass, western
wheatgrass, and smaller amounts of mutton grass and sun sedge.
Forbs and brush species include fringed sage, hairy goldenaster, green plume rabbit brush, green
sagewort, milk vetch, senecio species, prickly peaz and yucca.
Woody species on the site are pinyon pine, one-seen juniper, and mountain mahogany which
dominate the steeper slopes, while the more open azea is mostly grasses and low shrubs.
(b) "Permanent man-made structures within 200 feet of the affected land"
This is presently an undeveloped loamy foothills range site with no man-made swctures within 200
feet.
(c) "Water resources in the area of proposed operation"
Smith Gulch lies across Tallahassee Road to the south of the permit azea and is an ephemeral stream.
A Stormwater Discharge permit will be acquired and the associated Stormwater Management Plan
will be designed to insure there is no affect on Smith Gulch. There aze no other water resources that
could be affected by this operation, such as other streams, lakes, stockwater ponds, ditches,
reservoirs and aquifers which could receive drainage from the affected area.
(d) "Wildlife Statement"
Attached is a copy of the request for comment mailed to the Division of Wildlife on December 2,
1998. To date no response has been received, which is not unusual for my experience with that
Division. In my personal opinion based on my experience, I feel that any impact on wildlife would
be minimal at the most.
As stated earlier in this section, the 2 main soil types aze Boyle and Boyle-Martindale complex, 3
to 20 percent slopes. The SCS data sheets aze attached.
