PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS <br />~slographic Features <br />This site occupies gently to moderately sloping fans and <br />(n the pinyon-Juniper zone. Nuch of It is In posit(on tc <br />water that runs off steeper land. Most of It Is dry, the <br />except temporarily. A few spots are grading toward meadc <br />The site may tongue out below Its normal elevation where <br />Is occasional overflow. Slopes are mostly 0 to 6$, althc <br />are steeper. Slope Is not significant to plant growth. <br />are about 8000 to 8500 feet. <br />2. Clima[Ic Features <br />Average annual precipitation Is 10 to 14 Inches. Of this <br />half falls between May 1 and September 1, mostly as hard, <br />thundershowers In July and August. May and June are norm <br />Wide seasonal and yearly variations are cortmon. MaJor na <br />make most of their growth between early May and mid-July, <br />growth may continue through most of the summer, and there <br />late regrowth of some early-maturing plants. <br />Mean annual temperature is 40° to 43° F.
