(ACZ) received 6 ground water samples from Brown and Caldwell on July 31, 2003. The samples
were received in good condition. Upon receipt, the sample custodian removed the samples from the cooler, inspected the
contents, and logged the samples into ACZ's computerized Laboratory Information Management System (LIMB). The
samples were assigned ACZ LIMS project number L42294. The custodian verified the sample information entered into the
computer against the chain of custody (COC) farms and sample bottle labels.
All analyses were performed within EPA recommended holding times except for the following:
1. The Low Level Mercury analysis was completed past the hold time due to continuing instrument problems. A loaner
instrument was brought in but there were problems with this instrument as well. There will be no charge for this analysis.
These samples were analyzed for inorganic, radiochemistry parameters. The individual methods are referenced on both,
the ACZ invoice and the analytical reports. The following anomaly required further explanation not provided by the Extende<
Qualifier Report:
1. For Radium 226 on samples L42294-02, 03 and 04, the samples contained a high amount of solids and were run on a
dilution. Only 500 mis were used instead of 1000 mis.
REPAD.02.11.00.01
IA2294: Page 2 of 28
Brown and Caldwell September 11, 2003
