.; <br />NPDES SPILL PREVENTION & CONTAINMENT PLAN <br />1994 UPDATE <br />EDNA MINE NPDES PERMIT #CO-0032638 <br />SPILL HISTORY: In the last year the mine experienced one <br />unplanned release. In October of 1993, while removing two <br />underground diesel storage tanks from the mine site, diesel <br />was found in the fill material around the tanks. This event <br />has been reported to the Colorado Department of Health, and <br />at this time remediation plans have been incorporated and <br />will be conducted during the Spring of 1994. <br />REPORTING SPILLS: There will be no change in the procedure for <br />reporting spills. <br />PREVENTIVE FACILITIES: All preventive facilities mentioned in previous <br />reports are in place and are monitored on a regular basis. <br />Since the last update, mine personnel have modified the <br />mine's oil dock. This modification includes a containment <br />berm on the down side of the oil dock that would catch any <br />material from damaged or spilled drums on the dock. <br />POTENTIAL SPILL THREAT MATERIALS: There are no changes from the <br />previous report. <br />OUTSIDE CONTRACTOR FOR SPILL CONTAINMENT: Moore Engineering & <br />Equipment Sales, 3620 Galapago St., Denver, Colorado 80110 <br />Phone (303)789-1009. <br />There are no changes in persons designated to report conditions in Part <br />II, Section A, Paragraph 3 and as noted in Part II, Section B of the <br />current Edna Mine NPDES permit. These persons are as follows: <br />1) David Long, Mine Superintendent <br />2) Terry CroWner, Reclamation Foreman <br />3) David Beverlin, Resident Engineer <br />4) Ron Bugay, Safety Officer <br /> <br />This contingency plan will be reviewed and updated annually. Any <br />corrections and additions will be noted at that time. <br />
