.;
NPDES SPILL PREVENTION & CONTAINMENT PLAN
1994 UPDATE
EDNA MINE NPDES PERMIT #CO-0032638
SPILL HISTORY: In the last year the mine experienced one
unplanned release. In October of 1993, while removing two
underground diesel storage tanks from the mine site, diesel
was found in the fill material around the tanks. This event
has been reported to the Colorado Department of Health, and
at this time remediation plans have been incorporated and
will be conducted during the Spring of 1994.
REPORTING SPILLS: There will be no change in the procedure for
reporting spills.
PREVENTIVE FACILITIES: All preventive facilities mentioned in previous
reports are in place and are monitored on a regular basis.
Since the last update, mine personnel have modified the
mine's oil dock. This modification includes a containment
berm on the down side of the oil dock that would catch any
material from damaged or spilled drums on the dock.
POTENTIAL SPILL THREAT MATERIALS: There are no changes from the
previous report.
OUTSIDE CONTRACTOR FOR SPILL CONTAINMENT: Moore Engineering &
Equipment Sales, 3620 Galapago St., Denver, Colorado 80110
Phone (303)789-1009.
There are no changes in persons designated to report conditions in Part
II, Section A, Paragraph 3 and as noted in Part II, Section B of the
current Edna Mine NPDES permit. These persons are as follows:
1) David Long, Mine Superintendent
2) Terry CroWner, Reclamation Foreman
3) David Beverlin, Resident Engineer
4) Ron Bugay, Safety Officer

This contingency plan will be reviewed and updated annually. Any
corrections and additions will be noted at that time.
