Kim Edwards
South Platte Combined Replacement Plan
October 23, 2007
Page 3
Mining of the North Dahlia Pit is complete and Aggregate has contracted with an individual
to backfill the remaining exposed ground water at the site. The existing lake will be backfilled over
the next one to two years.
Mining at the Jeronimus Pit is complete and Aggregate is currently filling in the lake at the
site with fines from the Hazeltine Pit. Ultimately the entire site will be backfilled.
Mining at the Platte Valley Pit was completed in 2006. The site has filled with ground water
and as mining progresses across the river at the Wattenberg Pit, Aggregate will backfill the Platte
Valley Pit with fines produced from the Wattenberg Pit. Ultimately the entire site will be backfilled.
Mining has been completed at the Stegner Pit and a slurry wall has been constructed
around the site. The finer has not yet been approved, therefore the 3.2 acres of existing ponds will
be treated as ground water lakes and evaporation from the lakes will be replaced under this plan,
until such time as the liner is approved. Lagged depletions that result from past mining operations
at the site will also be replaced under this substitute water supply plan ("SWSP").
Aggregate has completed mining at the Loloff Pit and is working to transfer the mining
permit back to the landowner who intends to continue mining the site for several more years.
The final reclamation plan for each site, the bond amount and the water commitment to
replace depletions in the event that the operator ceases dewatering and walks away from the site is
shown in Table 3 below.
Table 3

Site Name
DMG # Proposed Final
Reclamation Bond
Amount
Dkch RI hts Committed/Comments
Teti Pit M-99-090 ground water Lake $10,000 none
North Dahlia Pit M-94-093 lined reservoir $811,100 none
Jeronimus Pit M-75-039 backfilled none
Hazeltine Pit M-04-031 lined reservoir $670,602 none
Bri hton Pit M-7736 lined reservoir $1,579,400 none
Tucson South Pit M-04-044 lined reservoir $994,423 none
Tucson Pit M-91-140 lined reservoir $811,000 none
Wattenber Pit M-01-008 lined reservoir Westminster 1998 Lease (294.79 ac-ft )
Platte Valley Pit M-89-120 backfilled $754,732 none
Distel Pit M-89-029 ground water Lake 52.5% Coffin & Davis Ditch (172.2 ac-ft CU)
Tull Pit M-94-027 round water Lake 1 Share Smith & Emmons Ditch (61.1 ac-ft )
Stegner Pit M-99-021 lined reservoir $184,664 none
W.W. All of the dewatering water is returned to
the river, either directly or via a drainage channel. All dewatered water must be delivered to the
river without consumption.
