Way Co. - "Stage Stop Pit" <br />File No. M-84-025 <br />Dear Mr. Chiang: <br />Our Division has received your latest package of information concer <br />110 permit application for the Stage Stop Pit. This completes the <br />vegetation and soils information, but an on-site survey of the site <br />wildlife impacts is still lacking. The application is thus still i <br />I strongly suggest that you make every effort to complete this per <br />application as soon as possible such that the Board can hear it du <br />June 27-28, 1984 meeting. This will require submission of the on- <br />wildlife information (from the Division of Wildlife or another qua <br />wildlife biologist). I stress the importance of this because Bria <br />Saguache County Planning has informed me that So. Way Co. is alrea <br />gravel in the vicinity of the proposed pit for a Division of Highw <br />contract. This mining is not yet permitted. <br />I have already notified the Division of Highways that any mining b <br />Co. in this area is unpermitted. Any actions that Highways may to <br />concerning this matter are according to their own policy and not s <br />Division policies. I will, however, plan to have one of our staff <br />site before the next Board meeting. If mining has occurred, we wi <br />enforcement action against the operator during the June 27-28, 198 <br />The operator would, of course, be given notice of any such enforce <br />Mr. Peters also informed me that mining was not occurring on the p <br />land that was originally to be mined.
