(NorWest) hereby submits this Notice of Intent <br />(NOI) document descnbing the second phase of a program to install alluvial <br />groundwater monitor wells near Hayden, Colorado. The installation of these <br />monitor wells is in support permitting activities Petta< ~ to the Big Elk <br />mmndergrommnd coal mine development project. <br />This NOI doaJmnent is submitted by NorWest on behalf of Cottomvood <br />Land Company (CLC). Cottonwood Land Comparry and its affiliate Juniper <br />Coal Comparry are the developers of the Big Elk project. <br />A calculation of the estimated reclamation and well abandonment costs has <br />beat included with this submis9on: a nma~dnnmrn of $1,313 maybe required to <br />reseed the Phase Il well sites after installation, and a ma~rrmum of $7,975 <br />may be required to seal and abandon the Phase II wells. For Phase 1 of this <br />program (completed earlier this year mJnder NOI No. CX-98-219-02), CLC <br />submitted a cash reclamation bond for $5,095.
