S'~'0~211~1WA'TER AN;VUAL RE~(~[t"i' (:'~~~''3'.1
r~.. .411 discharge points have been maintained and sampled as per our NPDES permit
requirements.
Received N.O.V. on 5-20-97 for failure to maintain surface water monitoring devices
(crest gauges). These devices were constantly being washed out and were impossible to
maintain. Permit revision was submitted to eliminate these requirements.
On September 19, we received a storm event which exceeded the 10 yr., 24 hr. amount.
This caused a discharge from two of our refuse area sediment ponds (RP 2/3 #003, RP-4
#025). Samples were taken and analyzed. The TDS exceeded our discharge limitations,
but was not recognized as a violation because we fell under a reduced discharge standard
due to the 10 yr., 24 hr. event.
