<br />Maintenance Building. It is on a concrete pad with concrete <br />berms high enough to contain the entire volume of the agent <br />in case of a lea}:. This tank is piped 50 feet to a Car <br />Spaying System that uses a steel plate catch basin which <br />drains into a 100 gallon above ground steel recycling tank. <br />which prevents spillage onto theground and permits recycling <br />of the antifreeze agent. <br />RAILROAD MAINTENP.NCE BUILDING - <br />This building has an impervious concrete floor with <br />a large concrete floor sump in order to contain oil spills <br />during routine operation and maintenance of railroad <br />locomotives and cars. The sump water is pumped to a Monarch <br />Oil Separator Unit which is registered as an underground <br />storage tank through the State of Colorado Underground <br />Storage Tan}: Program. 55 gallon oil and lubricant drums are <br />mounted on metal stands with metal trays placed under each <br />spigot to catch any oil spillage. <br />5. 000NTERMEASURES- <br />Oil and fuel spills and ponded precipitation containing <br />oil residue and/or fuels in diked areas shall not be allowed <br />to accumulate and shall be promptly removed and disposed of. <br />if and when the Ueserado Mine experiences a spill, top <br />priority shall be given to the containment of the spill and <br />removal of any oil, fuel, or chemical, which has entered any <br />body of water or tributaries. <br />Contractor assistance will be employed to pump large <br />spills into a tanker truc}: and dispose of in an approved <br />location. <br />Materials, such as the following, shall be used to help <br />contain and absorb spilled oils and fuels or to neutralize <br />acids. <br />- BOYCO OIL P.bsorbent <br />- Straw <br />-Rags <br />-Powdered Limestone (Calcium Carbonate) <br />All such materials, after use, shall be promptly discarded <br />in an approved manner as stated in the product MSDS sheet. <br />The materials listed above are stored at the minesite at all <br />times and can be procured within 24 hours if supplies were <br />depleted. Adequate supplies cf the material will be stock- <br />piled to handle most spill situations. <br />
