The previous report for 96-27-1 was for the 96-27-1 offset approximately X00 feet to the
south. An isolated find consists of five or fewer surface artifacts with no associated
cultural features and minimal potential deposition. A site consists of five or more artifacts within 50
~' meters of one another, or at least one cultural or structural feature. The full extent of each site was
established, a site sketch map was drawn, and photographs were taken of the site area and any
*" distinctive features.
;::r
~ RESULTS
~..
~:.
A total of 108 acres of Forest service surface was surveyed for the presence of cultural resources.
Field conditions were adequate for the discovery of cultural resources, and the project area did not
contain any azeas of Holocene deposition that might contain buried cultural resources. Field
conditions were the poorest along the steep north and east facing slopes for the RAV-8 Alt A and B
locations and associated access. However, conditions on these rugged slopes appeared unfavorable
?y; for any in situ cultural resources. No cultural artifacts or features were found within the area of
survey.
~_~ EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
' The proposed project sites, as mazked at the time ofcultural resource inventory, did not contain any
~Ir significant cultural resources. Therefore, the proposed undertaking will not adversely affect any
historic or prehistoric cultural resource. Cultural resource clearance is recommended for the project
'' as surveyed.
~,'.;_ Wes~elk De-gaz Vents (210A3)July.doc j
t `:
