At any particular time, the active coal extraction <br />• operation will normally involve an area of 2-3 acres underground. <br />As development of the mine continues to enlarge the area of mine <br />workings, the fl'CCa Of pCl'501711e1 activity will increase as it will be <br />necessary to maintain and InSpeCt pCrlOlllcall)' the areas where minable <br />coal remains. <br />h. After mining permits are granted to Applicaii and mining <br />plans approved by the Colorado Department of \4ines, a period of <br />about 6 months will be necessary to install electric power, complete <br />access roads, construct outside mine facilities and auxilliary buildings, <br />and prepare the portal of the mine for the mining operation, After the <br />initial consu-uction period, 60-90 days will be required to advance tle <br />entries to the point where underground mining of coal can be done on a <br />regular daily tonnage basis. It will require 30 years to mine the re- <br />coverable coal as now known by Applicant to exist on lands held. <br />3) a. Reclamation of the mine portal and waste dump areas will <br />be as described in 1) U, above. <br />b, Implementation of Section 34-32-116, See attached )/xhibit C. <br />c.
