The boundaries <br />of the coal lands of Applicant are designated and geologic and other <br />data have been added to the base map, much of which bears on the <br />ground water resources of the area. Three streams pass through <br />the area: The south flowing Animas and the tributary Lightner Creek <br />drain most of the area. The La Plata River drains the western part <br />of the area, Thls stream is shown on USGS maps to have an inter- <br />mittent surface flow. <br />2) Map A shows the locations of springs, water ditches, drainage <br />gulleys and fifty-one water wells. Table I gives the ownership, depth <br />yields, etc. on the wells. This information is from Colorado state <br />records. <br />There are no reservoirs fn the area. Ridges Basin Reservoir <br />which will be located in the southeastern part of the map area, is <br />[n the planning stages. There are no water ditches or surface waters <br />on Applicant's coal lands. <br />-18- <br /> <br />
