Buffalo itL Hine f11'2) Permit Number 78-11
C>var Berhan:
Wit}~ this letter I am hoping to clear ups the apparent confusion
concerning: the requested release for reclamation liability for a
portion of the Buffalo #1 Mine, 112 Permit Number 78-11.
I have included a copy of a map showing Phase III of the phased
minim plan which also shows the area that you inspected. Please
note that there are apgrorimately 10 acres of land (both pre-law
and post law) that were reclaimed. Your report stated there was
only ~' acx•es and should be amended. As you saw when you
inspected thin gx•operty, the reclamation was well eatablished_
We would like to be released from any reclamation liability for
the entire 10 acre ax•ea.
Aa was stated in Paul Geaao's original request for release, the
Buffalo Itl pex•mit was converted to a 112 permit in 1J84_ This
convex`sion contained a ghased mining plan. Currently mining
activities for the Buffalo #1 Mine are know included in Phases I
and II_ l]ur plans are to eventually start mining in Phase III
which would re-disturb the reclaimed area that you inspected.
When this occurs, we would be required to reclaim that acreage as
outlined in our permit. If mining does not go into Phase III
then the currant reclamation should be deemed complete.
I hope this cleax`s up, the confusion_ If you have any questions
please call_
:_'ui nZ. gel y, ~/~/"`
LB
Hnc}+ael lU_ Leidic.h, F'_E_
}linen Hanagex`
1845 West Dartmouth • P.O.
