As far as the culvert going into Pond 008, the two lower joints of pipe will be removed
and the next 20 foot length of pipe will be cut in half to eliminate an outlet controlled culvert
situation. The same contractor that started work on Breach Point #1 at 7:OOam the next day will
do the work here
Breach Point#5
Breach Point #5 on Perimeter Collection Ditch C1 is located approximately 125 feet southwest of
Pond 009, where three 18-inch diameter CMP that pass under 2700 Road to Pond 9 are located.
Several dead tumble weeds washed down Ditch C1 and plugged one of the culverts. This action
then caused an overload on the two remaining culverts. The ditch filled up and breached the
embankment next to the culvert inlets. Water and sediment exited the permit and flowed across
County Road BB Detour. The water then entered Tuttle Draw. The amount of water released is
unknown. There was no damage to the County Road and the impact to the land is minimal. W FC
will mitigate this by cleaning out the ditch and culverts; open up the inlets of the culverts; and
reinforce the embankment at the breach point. The contractor that was hired to fix Breach Point
1, 2, 3, and 4 will do the work on Site 5.
Attachment 1 and 2 are enclosed. Photos of interest are also attached that shows each breach
point.
The estimated time to complete all the repairs is expected to be 7-10 working days.
This concludes my report on the storm event. I hope this report and Dan's gives you sufficient
information to come to a satisfactory and favorable decision on this matter. If I can be of further
assistance, please call.
Sincerely,
os~ , P.E.
Chief E Weer
F: \Eng\DATA\WP\dmg\2006\l Ojuly06 off site water discharge with photos. doc
page 4
