Where overburden is encountered, it will be mooed
and placed in the worked-out areas, downslope from the
currently operated areas. Since the broken rock is of
greater volume than rock in place, it is anticipated that
the final contours of the land will closely approximate
those existing prior to the mining operation. At the ridge-
top and in areas where no removal of overburden is required,
the contour of the hill will remain the same, but approximately
15 feet lower than before the mining took place.
~ Worked out areas will be contoured to blend and conform
with the adjacent hillside. The reclamation work will be done
Using quarry equipment available and will leave the area with
suitable drainage and no slopes steeper than 3:1. Topsoil, if
encountered, will be stockpiled and later placed over selected
areas and planted to grass and fortis.
It is unlikely that vegetation can be established in the
disturbed areas. The floor of the quarry, where not filled
with overburden, will be composed of the underlying sandstone
with little, if any unconsolidated material needed for the
punting of grass or other vegetation.
The haul road will not be reclaimed as its continued exis~er.z_
is desired by the surface owner to provide access to various area:
of his ranch.
!III ~: Yf. ~ ..
{4„
,..iYn,. .,a~ru::a~+s.~i,.,:,:I1H~i~,.~,~ ~ .
