II I I II I IIIIIIIiI III Doc Date:12/11/2001
sss
~~" SECTION 6.0 Livestock Pond Construction Through 1991 and
Proposed Approximate Locations for 1992.
This section updates the CMLRD on the locations of all conswcted livestock ponds at Trapper Mine
through 1991 and projecu approximate locations for proposed pond consvutxion in 1992 (see attached
maps). The average pond density for Trapper mined-land areas will not exceed one pond per ten acres, the
density specified by the approved permit. Table 6-1 describes the as-built pond density in association with
the specific drainage areas.
In 1991, thirteen new livestock ponds were built. These were primarily in the East Buaaard, Johtuon and
West No-Name drainage areas. Additionally, Trapper cleaned or partially cleaned 23 previously con-
swcted ponds.
Enclosed map 6-1 also shows proposed pond locations that may be constructed by Trapper to accommodate
the optimum density for livestock/wildlite use on the reclaimed area. Approximatety ten ponds are
proposed for construction in 1992 and should be completed by October 31st Table 6-2 describes the pro-
jected approximate drainage area per pond following construction in 1992.
As has been the case with previous livestock pond conswetion, future stock pond conswetion will meet or
exceed most state and Cederal standards and specifications. Beginning in 1991, all constructed stock ponds
will be inspected by representative SCS personnel or a qualified impoundment inspector and appropriate
• correspondence forwarded to the Division in our annual reporu Ponds constructed in 1991 have bcen con-
struction-checked by Trapper personnel and were fmal-inspected by a qualified impoundment inspector.
The appropriate permit page (3-155) is enclosed allowing a change in either SCS or qualified impoundment
inspector inspection of stock pond construction adequary.
[CMl-RD\9IREPT6[
