E. <br />Western Technical Services <br />1024 8th Street <br />Greeley, CO 80631 <br />Dear Dick: <br />~ III IIIIIillllllllll <br />October 29, 1980 <br />~~ (i . , _' <br />P~°IP!«J L!.`;~ . <br />On Wednesday, October 29, 1980, Gary Finstead, Soil Conservationist and <br />I made an on-site vegetative survey of the Hokestra property where the <br />proposed Weld County gravel mining operation is located. <br />As reported earlier, the vegetation is typical of the salt meadow range <br />site, but more specifically we found the following grasses by percent <br />composition: <br />Salt grass <br />Wostern wheatgrass <br />Chcatgrass <br />Baltic rush <br />Sedges <br />Cockle burs <br />Wild lettuce <br />30~ Kochia 5q <br />2't Gwnweed 5~ <br />20$ All others 3~ <br />5$ Slender wheat T <br />Sx Alkali bluegrass T <br />5~ Bull thistle T <br />20~ Russian thistle T <br /> Yellow blossom T <br /> clover <br />Trees and woody plants were only a [race on the south side of the Saint <br />Vrain River, but on the north portion, we found a sparce cover of Plains <br />Cottonwood, Common willow and Tamarix. <br />Again, we could find no evidence of any plants on the endangered species <br />list. <br />Sincerely, <br />Carrol E.
