Both
the backslopes and pit floo+- will have topsoil replaced at a depth of
9" to 15" before reseeding.
Topsoil will be segregated and stockpiled on the edge of each 5 acre segment
for replacement in reclamation. Present projections are that topsoil
should be stockpiled no longer than 12 to 18 months. If the period should
be longer than that, yellow sweet clover will be used to seed these top-
soil stockpiles to preserve tfreir integrity. The SCS states "Adequate top-
soil is present in tfris area" to accomplish reclamation.
The SCS recommended seed mixture is as follows:
Species % of mix #/A
ldestern wheatgrass 30% 4.80
Bluebunch wheatgrass 10% 1.50
Indian ricegr-ass 10% 1.25
Pubescent wheatgrass 25% 3.50
Intermediate wheatgrass 25% 3.75
Total 14.8 #/F.
