1 <br />' G.4 Existing Water Rights in the Proiect Vicinity <br />' According to the Colorado Division of Water Resources master <br />files, there are several existing water rights in the vicinity of <br />San Luis Project. A listing of these existing water rights is shown <br />in Table G.4-1. <br />The only water right that is located on the mine site property <br />is the El Plomo Ditch, which, according to the State Engineer's <br />' records, has been inactive for a period of at least 20 years. <br />Likewise, the Willow Creek Ditch and Willow Creek Reservoir water <br />' rights are inactive. There is no ditch headgate and the reservoir <br />has been breached. <br /> The only active surface water rights in the vicinity of the <br /> mine project are the Salazar Ditch, the AA Salazar Ditch 1, and the <br />' AA Salazar Ditch 2. These water rights operate ~>n Rito Seco <br /> approximately one to three miles downstream of the mine site. <br /> <br /> The other water rights listed in Table G.4-1 are well water <br /> supplies which extract their water from the Santa Fe Formation in <br />' the alluvial plain area west of the mine site. <br />' Figure G-15 shows the location of existing water rights in the <br />project vicinity. <br />' Since Battle Mountain will obtain an augmentztion plan to <br />replace depletions to the stream system, there will bE no injury to <br />these existing water rights. <br />' G.5 Evaluation of the Hydrologic Imoacts Due to Mining <br />' G.5.1 Surface Water <br />' Water quality in the Rito Seco will be monitored <br />throughout the pre-mining period, as well as during the mining <br />' G-52 <br />
