' •,',' CORE LABORATORIES <br />Western AtJee <br />International <br />' .r,e„o..a~., <br />ANALYTICAL REPORT <br />May 3, 1989 <br />RINSING PROCEDURE FOR TAILINGS SOLIDS <br />Sample L356.11 -3.0 (Tailings Solids) was split into two equal <br />portions. One portion was retained for testing. The second portion <br />' was repeatedly rinsed with deionized water (pH adjusted to 5.0 - 5.5 <br />with dilute HCL). The rinsing was performed in a four liter glass <br />beaker. The solids/water mixture was vigorously stirred initially and <br />at several intervals for the first two hours. The slurry was then <br />' allowed to settle overnite. The solution on top was then decanted off <br />and pressure filtered. Any recovered fines were returned to the beaker. <br />This procedure was repeated several times over a month long period. pH <br />' was monitored during each rinsing cycle. Data generated from this <br />rinsing is tabulated below. At the completion of all rinsing the solids <br />were air dried and thoroughly blended.
