BO% 2<B
<55 EMERSON STREET
CRPIG, COLORADO 81625
April 21, 1980
AIEPIORANDUM
TO State Director, Colorado (CO-932)
FROM District Manager, Craig
SUBJECT: Renewal of Free Use Permit for Crushed Gravel.
The Moffat County Road Department has requested a renewal of Free
Use Permit number 05010-75-5 (District number) which expired in
February of 1980. This constitutes the second renewal of the
permit. The County extracted approximately 100,000 cubic yards of
material under the previous renewal, and currently requests permission
to extract an additional 100,000 cubic yards.
The subject Free Use Permit is covered by EAR number 05010-5-125 and
a mineral report prepared on February 28, 1975, by Jerald Bartell for
the Cold Springs Mountain Area Free Use Permit (see case file attached
for your review). A review of these two documents has revealed that
both adequately address the current proposal and that an additional
EA and mineral Report are not required.
It is also my opinion that the environmental impact caused by the
proposed action can be adequately mitigated and will not significantly
effect the quality or the human environment, therefore, the preparation
of an impact statement pursuant to section 102(2) G of the National
Environmental Policy Act of 1969 is not required.
I, therefore, recommend that the permit be extended for ~ years',
Attachment
SIB: t d
SZ~~dI~°i~R.
~, :~:i~,no:
.: i '= a t. ~ , ~ _ ~ ; "~
