This study involved the
inspection of literary and land office records as well as
topographic maps in their search for historic cultural locations.
Two previous archeological surveys were also used to predict the
quantity and location of prehistoric sites.
Most of the cultural locations are located along the
Picketwire Valley and its tributaries. Prehistoric site i
densities have been delineated into three concentration
potentials. Their probable location and concentrations have been
mapped and included in the report. The report is contained in
Exhibit 5, Cultural and Historic Resource Information.
2.04.5 General Description of Geology and Hydrology
A general description of the hydrologic and geologic
setting was prepared by Water, Waste and Land, Ltd. for both the
Golden Eagle and New Elk Mines.
