~J

EXHIBIT "B'•
MINING PLAN.
This site originally was an exposed decomposed granite dome. Past
mining operations have flattened the site to where it now has a
mesa-like appearance. It slopes uniformly to the east. The
affected area presently measures 3.4 acres.
The Copsoil varies in thickness Erom 0 to 6 inches and is neatly
stockpiled for reclamation on the outside perimeters of the mined
area. The top is flattened creating a berm approximately 12 inches
above the mined area to contain and prevent runoff. The downstream
slope averages 3: 1. Overburden and waste material is minimal. The
mined material is of satisfactory quality for rural road construction
and maintenance and is sold as pit run. Customers furnish their own
trucks for hauling.
When mining operations resume it is planned to remove gravel in 18
to 24 inch layers beginning at the west end and moving to the east.
Depth of workable deposit is estimated at 20 to 25 feet. Extraction
rates are projected at 8,000 to 12,000 tons per year maxium. Mining
operations a}e planned for 20. years pr less.
The owner uses a dozer for stripping and ripping and a front-end
loader for loading. There is no fixed equipment at the site. Whea
the County Road and Bridge Department need gravel for projects in
the Rye area they move in their dozer, front-end loader and occasion-
ally a portable screening machine to remove oversize material.
Entrance and exit is on an existing ranch road from Highway 165.
Gates are locked when there is no activity at the site.
As provided in Rule 1, "General Provision 1.62", the applicant hereby
states that the affected lands are to be used for less than one
hundred eighty (180) days per year.
That portion of the ranch road within the affected area although
used in routine ranching activities will be reclaimed after mining
operations cease.
