The proposed operation would be in t}~e floodplain of the Animas River. To the north and northeast of tkie site is the Simmons property, with a residence about 1,600 feet east of the site. To t}i northwest is tl~e St. Clair property on wl~icl~ is located t}ie Val-Air So ring Club Glider- port and Air Strip. The Gliderport ].anger is about 2,400 feet to the northwest of tl~e site. To t}ie east of the site acros tkie Animas River is located, in addition to the Simmons property, the parcel of Richard Cooper wkiic}i has no residence on it.
