PURPOSE AND DISCUSSION OF AMENDMENT <br />In a letter dated May 23, 2000, the permittee requested that the whole e,Bluent toxicity (u'ET1 test species for acute WET <br />testing at outfalls 004 and 007 be changed from Ceriodaphnia sp. to Daphnia manna. <br />The permittee performed a STR analysis to determine if a change from Ceriodaohnia sp. to Daohnia manna would be <br />appropriate given Ceriodaohnia sp. sensitivity to TDS, which was identified as the toxicant jot WET test failures at <br />outfall 007. Results of the STR anatysis indicate that Danhnia mares would be a more appropriate organism for WET <br />testing. On This basis, the permittee submitted a request to change WET testing species. <br />ISSUED EFFECTIVE EXPIRES 02/28/99 ADM/N/STRATIVELY EXTENDED <br />
