Slopes should generally not be any steeper than 3:1, <br />In general, the chances for vegetation establishment increase as the per- <br />' cent slope decreases, Topsoil should be applied and tilled to a depth of <br />6 inches, Topsoil application coill largely depend on cost and the amount <br />of organic matter present, <br />Fertilizer should be applied at a rate of not less than k0 lbs nitrogen <br />and 40 lbs of phosphorous per acre. Fertilizer should be applied immediately <br />prior to planting and thoroughly mixed with the soil, <br />' Seeding should be done betcaeen October 15 and April 15. If the slopes are <br />4:1 or flatter a grass drill faith depth bands should be used.
