The purpose of this <br />meeting wns to review the project, discuss the concerns of the <br />client, Llre regulatory agencies and wESTEC regarding several . <br />aspects of this project. <br />A second site observation by Edward M. <br />4orris, P.E., of Lincoln DeVore, occurred on 9-16-96. This site <br />•~bser•vat.ion was to perform additional field observations and to <br />observe the excavation of a test pit in the proposed sediment <br />pond below the waste bank. The exploration pit was excavated by <br />rhesnik Construction, logged by personnel of yESTEC, with obser- <br />vations h}• Bill Balaz, Lincoln De4'ore, Oxbow Carbon & Minerals <br />acrd Lhe State of Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. <br />Several hand excavated pits were placed in the dry creek banks, <br />above the proposed sediment pond, by Lincoln De~'ore Inc. The <br />purpose of these hand excavated pits was to try to identify- the <br />Lop of the prominent sandstone unit and provide a preliminary <br />assessment of the overburdened materials above this sandstone <br />unit. <br />r,E~ER.aI, GEOLOGY' <br />A general description of the lower Hesa <br />~'erc1P Formation exposed in the stud}• area is given on pages 2 <br />Uu•u 1 of thf• wF.STF.C report and the summary of boring number WBH- <br />SDI in appendix A. <br /> <br />7 <br />
