FOOTNOTES - APPLICABLE TO PRECEDING PACES <br />a/ - The thirty (30) day average shall be determined by the arithmetic <br />mean of threw (3) samples collected in separate calendar weeks during <br />a thirty (30) consecutive-day period with a minimum of 20 days <br />occurring between tt~e first and last sample days. <br />b/ - The seven (7) day average shall be determined by the arithmetic mean <br />of a minimum of three samples taken on separate days !n a seven (7) <br />day period. <br />c/ - This limitation shall be determined by a single sample as required by <br />Part I.B. Sample Type. <br />d/ - When the measurement frequency indicated is quarterly, the samples <br />shall be collected during March, June, September and December, if a <br />continual discharge occurs. If the discharge is intermittent, then <br />samples shall be collected during the period that discharge occurs. <br />If the permittee, using the approved analytical methods, monitors any <br />parameter more frequently than required by this permit, then the <br />results of such monitoring shall be included in the calculation and <br />reporting of the values required in the Discharge Monitoring Report <br />Farm or other forms as required by the Division. Such increased <br />frequency shall also be indicated. <br />e/ - Definitions of Sample T}•pe <br />1. A "composite" sample, for monitoring requirements, is a minimum <br />of four (4) grab samples collected at equally spaced two (2) hour <br />tntervals and proportioned according [o flow. <br />2. A "grab" sample, for monitoring requirements, is a single "dip <br />and take" sample. <br />3. An "instantaneous" measurement, for monitoring requirements, is a <br />single reading, observation, or measurement performed on site. <br />4. A "continuous" measurement, for flow aoni[oring requirements, is <br />a measurement obtained from an automatic recording device which <br />continually measures flow. <br />5. A "visual" observation, for oil and grease monitoring <br />requirements, is observing the discharge [o check for the <br />presence of a vfs161e sheen or floating o11. <br />6.
