Meteorological data presented is based on
records taken at Creede and reported to the National IYeather Service in
Alamosa. Older data is also available from iYagon Wheel Gap, approximately
10 miles east of the Bulldog Mountain Operation. On site meteorological
data is not available.
K-2 PRECIPITATION
From data based on records from various locations, it is estimated
that an average of approximately 12..16 inches of total precipitation fall
annually on the permit areas. Average monthly data from the Creede station
is presented in Table K-1. These data indicate that the months with the
highest average monthly precipitation are July, June, and August and the
months with the lowest average monthly totals are January and February. The
greatest daily total since 1974 was .86 inches of rain which fell on July 29,
1975.
Snowfall data for the permit areas has not been recorded and varies

considerably with elevations. Average winter storms seldom deposit over 6 inches
of light snow which has a normal water equivalent of 1 to 14. Average snow
depth accumulation varies from approximately 6 to 46 inches throughout the
permit area s, depending upon the forest cover and elevation.
-43-
