The Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad should
be notified as an adjacent landowner (as well as the
landowners on all other sides).
As may be verified in the notification documentation sent
to you May 9, 1980, the Denver & Rio Grande Western
Railroad was sent a notification letter. The letter,
Certified Mail No. 0288317, was sent to the address listed
on the Pitkin County Assesors records and refused.
2. Who is the adjacent landowner to the east of the
permit area? This landowner must also be notified.
Map 2 of Exhibit C-1 shows ownership east of the permit
area. A11 land on that boundary is owned by Carol Craig,
Box 608, Woody Creek, CO. A notification letter was
sent and a return receipt obtained. Documentation is
included in my May 9, 1980 letter.
EXHIBIT D:
1. Is the existing access road to be part of the permit
area? It should be if it is to be improved as a
part of the mining operation.
The existing access generally runs in the permit area.
When improved, the alignment will be altered enough to
ensure that the improvements are located inside the
permit area.
2. Our staff recommends planting the topsoil berm-
stockpile with 3 lbs. PLS/acre Western Wheatgrass
(drilled rate) and keeping the sideslopes of this
stockpile at 2:1 or less.
The berm will be so planted at the first opportunity.
~~(„' `CONSTN UC TON.
