4
(
) The wildlife habitat probably can be improved.
Slopes and areas disturbed but not excavated will be
~ seeded with the following mixture:
'
Seeding Rate in
Pound of Pure
' Species Live Seed/Acre
Indian Rice Grass 6
Blue Grama 1
Western Wheatgrass (Barton) 8

Pubescent Wheatgrass (Luna) 8
' Total 23
' The topsoil will be loose enough at the surface to
permit light covering (approximately 0.5 inches} of the seed
by hand raking after broadcasting the se ed by hand. Seeding
will be planned for the first two weeks in July or in the
' fall (October-November), whichever perio d follows first after
topsoiling. Rainfall is expected to be favorable for imme-
diate germination following the July per iod. However, spring
germination after fall planting may have a higher probability
of success. Commercial fertilizer at a rate of 30-40 pounds
' ' of available nitrogen will be broadcast at seeding and again
after grasses reach a height of 2-3 inch es. In the event

weed populations dominate the vegetative cover, selective
' ' herbicides will be applied.
E-2
