(cont.)
In addition to the routine discharge monitosing report (DMR), a report will be required if
multiple discharges are going to occur, as with mobile washing facilities. 77m written report
must be sent to the Division detailing the following information for Lath discharge: Date of
the discharge, Duration, Total ~+olume, and Flow rate of the discharge, Location of the
discharge, and Btst Managemem Praericrs used during the discharge. A form jot this report
(Multiple Discharge Report Form) is available from the Division. 71tis complaed and signed
form must be submitted with the quarterly DMR.
B. Facilities discharging wastewater from the washing of bleachers, elevated searing, and
grandstands, such as those found at outdoor sporting or entertainment events.
Thrse discharges are commonly contaminated with pollutanu such as trash and food debris.
The BMP section found in /. F.S. of the permit and in V.K. ojthis rationale direcu sweeping
all trash from area before washing down with water. Food and drink materials washed into
waterways can become Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BODE and Total Suspended Solids
(I'SS) problems. This is a problem when the nutrient pollutants in the water coast oxygen
depletion of the waterway due to minobial activity. Oxygen depletion is delaerious to most
• aquatic life and the depletion can be accelerated with the decay of algae blooms produced
because of the increased nutrient load on the waters. The limits are set at 30 mg/P for the
30 day average and 45 mg/P for the 7 day average to prevent BODE nutrients from becoming
a problem in the receiving stream.
•
