drill site D.H. 10 and the proposed ventilation shaft for this location <br />lie immediately adjacent to and beneath a Delta-Montrose 12 kV electric <br />transmission line. The drilling will require safety measures that must <br />take into account the presence of these "live" wires (i.e. rubber <br />blanketing, deactivation, limits to operating equipment height, etc.). <br />Because of the restricted nature of the location, the hole could not be <br />repositioned either up or down the slope in order to avoid the transmis- <br />sion lines. A downslope move would place the drill hole in the North <br />fork of the Gunnison River flood plain, and an upslope move would place <br />it on the highway and in the more active portions of the slide discussed <br />above. Similarly, the construction of a ventilation shaft at this area <br />might require a significant relocation of the transmission line. <br />C J <br />• <br />
