The results from this round of D.I. contact
tests showed are consistent with that previously submitted for the initial approval. Therefore, CC&V
requests approval to use the remainder of Pad 3 in a manner consistent with your approval dated
October 10, 1995. In the process of removing the lower-most material the pad liner would also be
removed as it is encountered.
Attached are the lab results for your review. Five pits were dug with atrack-hoe to approximately
15 feet below the bench marking the extent of our currently approved removal. The locations of
these pits are shown on the attached map. Samples were collected with the track-hoe from the
bottom of each pit. These samples were then subjected to a D.I. contact test for a period of 66
hours. The methodology was consistent with that of previous tests with the solid:d.i. ratio of 3:2 and
turning of the sample after the initial 24 hour of contact.
If you have questions please call me a 719-689-4041.
Sincerely,
Scott Wanstedt
Supervisor, Environmental Affairs
enc:
FII-E: PAD36.LTR
