STFTE OF COLORAf~O 9i[HPRf~~41M. fin v.~vv'i III IIIIII IIIIIII III
999
June 21, 1982
David C. Shelton
Director
Mr. Donald R. Martin
P.O. Box 104
La Veta, Colorado 81055
RE: L. Otto Goemmer -
File No. 82-129
Response to your
Dear Mr. Martin:
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
D. Monte Pascoe, Executive Director
MINED LAND RECLAII'IATION
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel. (303) 866-3567
"Rocky Flat Gravel"
letter of protest
Enclosed please find a copy of my initial adequacy review letter
of the permit application for the above captioned operation. I
have also enclosed a copy of my second letter to Mr. Goemmer that
was initiated by your June 17th letter to our Division.
As you will notice, many of your concerns were shared by me and
mentioned in my letter of June 15th. Your concerns not so mentioned
(or otherwise covered in the permit application) are amplified by me
in my second letterrto Mr. Goemmer.
To date, I have not yet received a reply to my letter of June 15th.
This leaves many outstanding issues yet to be resolved before the
application can be considered adequate for consideration by our
Mined Land Reclamation Board. At this point, however, the application
is scheduled to be heard by the Board this Wednesday afternoon. I
think that it is quite likely that the operator will request a
continuance until next month's Board meeting (July 21-22) in order to
resolve all of the various outstanding issues.
I suggest that you give me a call in order to bring yourself up to
date concerning the status of this matter later in the week. Thank
you for your concern in this matter.
Sincerely,
Mark S. Loye
Senior Reclamation Specialist
vt
Enclosures
