III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII RECE~vEC <br />999 <br />MINED LAND ~DLIFE BTATEMENT/EVALUATIO (Revised) <br />AUG 1 5 1991 <br />for limited impact and select regular mine applicationgqs Mjned Land <br />The following information pertaining to wildlife is provid8~(~8ti0n Division <br />use by Mined Land Reclamation Board in their consideration of a <br />mining permit for: <br />Ula Gravel Pit, T22S-R73W-SW1/45W1/4516 <br />Name/Type and Location of Mine (Legal) <br />Wildlife Species Liat: Horned Lark, Thirteen-Lined Ground <br />Squirrel, Meadowlark, White-Tailed Jack Rabbit, Antelope, Elk, <br />Western Jumping Mouse. <br />Endangered/Critical Species/impacted: None <br />Critical Habitats/Vegetative Communities Impacted: None <br />Assesa~aent of Impacts Temporary impact to 9.98 acres of high <br />prairi~a. If properly reclaimed, losses should only be temporary <br />and wi:Ll allow wildlife to re-establish use of the site subsequent <br />to ces:>ation of mining and reclamation activities. <br />Mine Reclamation Recommendations (include key species/habitats for <br />Nhich restoration is designed): Topsoil should be properly removed <br />and stockpiled for use during reclamation. If left longer then six <br />months topsoil should be seeded with a mix to prevent wind and <br />water ~arosion. Final slopes should not exceed 3H:1V. Disturbed <br />areas should be topsoiled and reseeded with a native seed mix <br />similiar to surrounding areas as per SCS recommendations. The site <br />should be fenced and all stock excluded during reclamation until <br />such time that adequate cover exists,per MLRD specifications, for <br />release of bond. <br />Prepareed By: David C.
