After the sand and gravel has been removed the slopes on the
outside perimeter of the pit will be flattened to a 2:2 slope.
A dike between the Colorado River and the proposed pit area
will be left in place with a minimum width .of 50 feet. All
existing trash, brush piles etc. will be disposed of. Upon
completion of the pit reclamation we will cease our dewatering
operation and allox the water table to return to its natural
elevation.
At the present time various projects are in the design stage
which will require sand and gravel products from the vicinity
of this proposed pit. rrle feel that conservation of sand and
gravel in Mesa County is very important and, that it is in
the best interest to re-open this abandoned pit area and
remove the sand and gravel which remains. Also, by controlled
reclamation as set forth the general area will benefit.
Our present plans are to complete operations within this aroa
during the next four years. The clean-up and most of tho
reclamation hoxever will be accomplished during 1970.
Should you desire further information concerning this
application please contact me at the following:
Corn Construction Co.
P, 0.
