• Pump tests for the Third White Sandstone in this area have
also been conducted on wells GC2 and GP9. Transmissivities of 4.4
and 30 gal/day/foot were obtained from these two pump tests, with
horizontal permeabilities of 0.01 and 0.07 ft/day. Flow in the
Third. White Sandstone is estimated to be approximately 6 gpm for a
width of 3000 feet of the Third White Sandstone, a hydraulic
gradient of 0.09 ft/ft and a transmissivity of 30 gal/day/foot.
This indicates that the alluvial system can convey a much larger
rate than the Third White Sandstone in the area of the Flume draw.
Hydro-Engineering (1992) presents an updated analysis of the
water quality conditions in the Third White Sandstone and the Flume
alluvial system in this area. Section 3.0 of this report should
be reviewed for the latest information on the water quality in
• these two aquifers. The field conductivity in the upstream Elume
well GC3 has significantly increased from 1985 through 1990 due to
the decrease in recharge in this area. An overall increase in TDS
has also been observed over this period of time in the downstream
alluvial well at the Coy site. Field conductivity at the Coy site
is slightly greater than that observed upstream, with both of these
field conductivities in the neighborhood of 2000 µmhos/cm. Wells
GC2 and GP9 monitor the Third White Sandstone in this area. The
field conductivity in the Third White Sandstone }ias generally
decreased in the last couple of years; probably due to. slightly
larger recharge rates during this period of time than in the
previous several years. Field conductivity in the Third White
Sandstone in this area is slightly less than that in the Flume
REVISED 11/03/92
.~.. ,'~jj~i~•~i
- _ _
? ~/ 9 3
_ ... , .
. ...
.. _ .
,. _ _ ,
-:--.._ .
~:
...
.. ..,..,
