<br />i~ <br />;~ <br />Doc Date:12/71/2pp- ~ ~ III'll'IIIIIIIII'11 <br />5j~ <br />2.7.6 Hydrologic Balance <br />A discussion of the hydrologic balance of the permit area follows. <br />Precipitation, evapotranspiration, surface runoff and ground-water <br />recharge are considered in this water balance. <br />2.7.6.1 Precipitation <br />The climate in the region is semi-arid. Since 1936, annual precipitation <br />at Craig has averaged approximately 13 inches and has varied from a <br />minimum of 7.4 inches to a maximum of 20.8 inches. The maximum monthly <br />precipitation occurred in October 1941 and June 1945 when 4.55 inches <br />were recorded: No precipitation was recorded during October 1952. <br />Point precipitation data for various projected storm occurrences were <br />obtained from U. S.
