Dawson
St. Jude Mining Company
Box 3737
Grand Junction, Colorado 81501
Dear Mr. Dawson,
This is in reply to your request for a zoning letter of approval for the
following mining operations in San Miguel County:
✓l ) Ike No. 1
Section 8, Township 43 North, Range 19 West, N.M.P.M.
2) Ann No. 1
Section 16, Township 43 North, Range 19 West, N.M.P.M.
3) Nola "Z
Section 16, Township 43 North, Range 19 West, N.M.P.M.
4) Sheila No. 1
Section 32, Township 43 North, Range 18 West , N.M.P.M.
5) Murietta Mine
Section 25, Township 45 North, Range 18 West, N.M.P.M.
(A similar letter has been issued to Dawson Mining for this operation. )
All of these locations in San Miguel County are zoned F-Forestry and Agriculture
District; mining operations are a use allowed by right subject to conditions in
this district (see enclosure) . Therefore, St. Jude Mining' s mining activities
at these locations are a legal use under the County Zoning Resolution.
The Planning Department has also just completed a draft land use plan for the
County which provides for continuation of mining activities in this area of the
County.
I think that this letter will be adequate for permit purposes under the Mined
Land Reclamation Act.
Sincerely,
SAN MIGUEL COUNTY
PLA14NING DEPARTMENT
Judy A.
