<br />L I <br />(iii) State the species to be planted and applicable quantities: <br />(1) This application includes the following information in accordance with the <br />regulations: <br />{a) When and what depth of overburden will be replaced in relation to extraction. <br />The soil types present have little to no topsoil and no overburden with the <br />surtace being sand and gravel. 4"-6" of the top layer will be saved as plant <br />growth media to be replaced in reclamation. <br />(bj Maximum gradient of reclaimed slopes (horizontal :vertical) <br />The maximum gradient on reclaimed backslopes will be 3H:1V of flatter to <br />accommodate rangeland use, <br />(c) Measures that will be taken to revegetate the site: <br />(i) The growth media will be replaced at a depth of 4" to 6" and the <br />backslopes finished no steeper than 3H:1 V. The pit will daylight on all <br />sides with nohigh-walls. See maps. <br />(ii} Time of seeding, seedbed preparation, type, application rate and soil <br />incorporation, method of fertilization application. Fall seeding is preferred <br />and proposed if at all possible. The seedbed will be scarified and it will be <br />across the slope in the backsloped area. Seed will be drilled rather than <br />broadcast. 40# available N & P recommended and will be applied with a <br />commercial spreader.
