Topsoil should be evenly
distributed over the area as soon as the operation is complete. Reseed with native grass, forb
and tree species. If overburden is replaced as per the operation plan the general contour
should not seriously deviate from the pre-mining condition. Final grading should be done to
match the affected area as close as possible to the surrounding area and to prevent rapid
runoff of water.
The tailing pond should be dug at a location distant from the Middle Fork of the South Platte
River and either lined with plastic or bentonite to prevent leaching of sediment material into
the river. After completion of the project the sediment should be scraped from the pond and
hauled to a location where it will not be washed into the river either directly or leaching.
The pond site should be reclaimed like the rest of the site. Precautions must be taken to
keep all milling water from the river even in the event of a 100 year rain fall situation.
Fre?aced B}•:_ _ JIM_,TnNFC n;~r,-; ,.. c,;iai;fo t•Lanagar Date:
S-`~nit[ed B}^ Bob Davies.
