STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PLAN
PROJECT: Timnath Connell Pit
LOCATION: South East '/4 of Section 3, Township 6 North, Range 68 West, the 6'11
P.M., all in Larimer County, Colorado
RECEIVING WATERS: Cache La Poudre
CONTACT PERSON: Dave Simpson
Vice President
Connell Resources, Inc.
4305 East Harmony Road
Ft. Collins, Colorado 80525
(970) 223-3151
1.0 Site Description
This site is the future location of a sand and gravel extraction operation with all associated production
facilities. This property currently is irrigated farm land. The southwest comer of the property is located
at the intersection of Larimer County Road 36 and the I-25 Frontage Road. Harmony Road is
approximately %mile north and I-25 is located immediately west of the property. County Road 5 is the
eastern border of the site. The Box Elder irrigation ditch bisects the property from the north to south
with the Harrison lateral ditch intersecting the Box Elder in the north %2 of the property and running
eastward to the east boundary of the site. Drainage at the site is generally from south to north. The
Cache La Poudre River is approximately 100 ft to the east of the northeast comer of the property. This
property consists of 157.58 acres of which approximately 144.56 acres will be disturbed by the mining
operation.
This site is partially within the 100-year floodplain of Cache La Poudre River.
2.0 Description of Operation
This operation will be an aggregate extraction operation using dry mining techniques requiring
dewatering of the site. This site will be mined in three phases. Aggregate extraction will occur from the
west to the east in Phase 1, around the perimeter of the property in Phase 2, and from the north to the
south in slices approximately 200-300 feet in width beginning on the west side of the property in Phase
3. This operation will produce approximately 400,000 tons of aggregate per year.
Crushing and screening equipment will be brought on-site to create and size aggregate for road base
materials and asphalt materials. Aggregate will be washed using wash pond facilities to be located
within the processing site area.
An office trailer and a truck scale will be set up near the access point of the site. Haul roads will be
constructed throughout the site for internal access to the active mining area, the scale, and processing
area. Some new roads constructed for the mining access may remain after reclamation.
1
