1
~, • INTRODUCTION
With the issuance of this report, the section on the
revised program plan and mine waste transport system concept
design of the technical proposal program plan will be completed.
The revised program plan describes in detail the task-by-
task efforts required to provide a detailed design of an under-
ground coal waste disposal system for the Hawks Nest Mine (HNM)
of Western Slope Carbon (WSC). This design will include all
calculations, measured data, drawings, equipment specifications,
equipment costs based on vendor quotes of commercially available
hardware, and the schedule for ordering, constructing and
operating the disposal system for one year.
The underground Coal waste disposal system's conceptual
design based on the project team's, Foster-Miller Associates,
Inc. (FMA) and Radmark Engineering, initial visit to WSCHNM, is
presented in the section following the revised program plan.
The conceptual design identifies in a general format the equipment
required for the underground disposal system and its location in
the wash plant and mine. Wherever possible wash plant and mine
• modifications have been kept to a minimum. Within the concept
design section is the data collected during the initial visit to
the HNM.
