<br />SECTION I PROJECT OVERVIEW <br />A. General <br />This Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) is intended to be in <br />full compliance wir_h t_he National Pollution Discharge <br />Elimination System and The State of Colorado Department of <br />Health Colorado Discharge Fermi*_ System--Stormwater (CAPS)--- <br />issued under the Colorado Water Quality Control Act <br />Certification IVo. COG-500848 <br />B. Industrial Facility Description SIC code 142 <br />Surface Mine Operation, Arkansas River derived sand and <br />gravel operation on 9.9 acres. Colorado Division of Mines <br />and Geology Mining Permit No. 19-81-080. Mining operation on <br />privately owned land located in parts of SEli4 of SW1/4, ar~d <br />SW1/4 of SE1/4 of Sec. 22, R12E, T48N, NMPIH, Fremont County, <br />Colorado. Elevation range from 6280' to 6300'. Active sand <br />and gravel operation including working faces, stockpiles, <br />roadways, and scale, with mobile crushing and screening <br />equipment on site for 90 day periods every three to four <br />years. Trucks grid loader on site year round for load out <br />from stockpiles. Annual volumes average 10000 tons although <br />larger volumes may be moved in short periods of time during <br />crushing operations on site and highway Paving operations, <br />which may occur for a 90 day period every four or fi~~~e years. <br />Under these conditions, up to 30000 tons of gravel may be <br />produced. <br />The gravel deposit is a quartz monzanite cobble and sand <br />Arkansas River sediment located on the Southern bank of <br />Arkansas River app. two miles west of Texas Creek, CO. The <br />Tezak Stone deposit overlays granite gneiss bedrock which <br />outcrops directly South and above the small river bend gravel <br />deposit. Total watershed area impacted by this operation is <br />app. 18 acres. Undisturbed soil type is a well drained <br />granite derived gravelly loam with a high degree of <br />permeability, with a variety of native grass cover. <br />There are no paved roadways or permanent structures presently <br />on the property.
