CDOW has mapped mule deer winter range in the lower elevations at the west and north
edges of the study area, and critical winter ranges (winter concentration area and severe
winter range) in small areas along the North Fork and Minnesota Creek, as shown on
Figure 15A, Mule Deer Winter Ranges. Mule deer summer range is mapped throughout
the study area. CDOW has mapped elk winter range in the northern and western study
area, and critical elk winter ranges (winter concentration area) in a small part of the study
area north of the North Fork, as shown on Figure 15B, Elk Winter Ranges. The entire
study area is mapped as elk summer range, but no summer concentration areas or elk
production areas are mapped in or near the study area. No migration corridors for elk or
mule deer are mapped in or near the study area.
The entire study area is mapped by CDOW as overall range for black bear and mountain
lion. No fall or summer concentration areas for black bear are mapped in or near the
study area.
