<br />In this quarry, the material rill be loaded into dump trucks, .presently
<br />using a 22 yd. Hough loader, The material is hauled to the Colorado Fuel
<br />and Iron Corporation and used to line the L;dels to protect the fire brick

<br />At the gravel pit, xe rill use a Cat bulldozer to loosen material. Ye
<br />=~ ~' rill also use a Cat rubber tine loader to feed the crusher, Ae are
<br />beginning at the South face (cross ref, map 3 black area and pictures A & B)
<br />and xorking north. In the area xe are working at the present time,
<br />(cross ref, map 3 black area and picture B), there is no topsoil xhatscever,
<br />just gravel and rock, In this area, to nlY present knoxledge and as long
<br />back as 1942, there has never been any topsoil in this area, There is also
<br />no overburden of any kind, except occasionally an oversized rock,
<br />Gravel rill not be xashed and never has been. The crusher is located
<br />a mile north of Tunnel Drive Road on the south face of the pit. (cross ref,
<br />map 3 blue area A and picture A), xe have approximate>tiy 100' face of
<br />gravel xhich will cover an area of 8 acres and rill take about 15 years
<br />to mine. Existing slopes are 1:1 to 2:1, We rill mine in a level manner
<br />so as not to dig any holes; xe are working from a 100' gravel face.
<br />Ne have applied to the Air Pollution Control Board, Dept, of Health in
<br />Denver for an emission permit on the crusher,

<br />This map xas drain from the Frenont County Assessors Office Plats,
<br />1" equals 100', Green area (cross ref, map 3) is haul road. Haul road
<br />in affected area is included in permit area, Haul road xas constructed
<br />in 1918. Haul road is used strictly for mining purposes, (cross ref,
<br />map 3 green area and picture C), Haul rosd is 30' ride and 2640' long -
<br />1,81 acres.

<br />EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan - Canister Quarry (cross ref, map 3 red area & pictures C & D),
<br />The 15' highxall (cross ref, map 3 red area E do picture C on left) rill
<br />remain in the quarry after reclamation is completed. By terracing the
<br />highxall, it would make the area look very bad. due to the surrounding area
<br />xhich is solid rock, Upon inspection of the area, Mr, Rade Orell inspected ',
<br />the Banister quarry and agreed that there xas no way to do anything xith j
<br />the solid rock xalls, There is no way you could put topsoil or vegetation I
<br />on solid rock, There is very little overburden and xaste,(cross ref, map 3
<br />red area D and picture D), All overburden and xaste material rill be
<br />graded off and graded to existing slopes and planted xith Indian Rice Grass I
<br />or Crested Nheatgrass at 2,5 lbs, pure live seed per acre as recommended
<br />by the U, S, Soil Conservation, About 40 Rocky Mountain Junipers, 6" - 8"
<br />in size from the U. S, Forest Service, rill be planted per acre at random,
<br />The nature of the material in waste dump(cross ref, map 3 red area D and
<br />picture D) is clay and rock, In the reclamation process, a D-8 bulldozer
<br />and loader rill be used. ,~
