Trinidad Basin blining, Inc. is in the process of developing a
pP*n+; t application to demonstrate ampliance with the l~qulations of
the Colorado Mined Iand Reclamation Board for Coal Mining and the
provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal ttining Reclamation Pct in
order to continue their surface m;n;nq opPSation. As you knaa, the
Trinidad Basin Mine, formerly the Del Agua Mine is approximately six
miles west of T+,~11ow and has been in existence since 1977.
In order to satisfy fh~le 2.05.5(1)(b) of the above regulations,
Trinidad Basin Mining must contact the surface owners of the land
within their permit boundary and solicit canrents on the proposed
post m;n;nq land use. 7t~erefore, Trinidad Basin Mining is seeking
your oo~m~ents on the proposed post m;n;nq land use detailed below.
A speedy reply to this request wwld be most appreciated, as Trinidad
Hasin Mining intends to subrnit the application by February 17, 1981
to the Colorado Mined land Reclamation Division.
Trinidad Basin Mining intends to return the land to rangeland
and wildlife habitat upon ar~letion of mining, It is believed that
this is the best post mining land use for this land.
