LILLIAN DENISON <br />4950 Chinquatin Lane <br />Beaiuront, Zhh_xas 77708 <br />RE: Trinidad Basin Mining, Inc. <br />Application to the Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />for a Coal Mining Permit <br />Dear Mrs. Denison: <br />Trinidad Basin Mining, Inc. is in the process of developing a <br />permit application to demonstrate ooir>pliance with the l~riations of <br />the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining and the <br />provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining l~clamation Act in <br />order to continue their surface mining operation. ~As you ]mow, the <br />Trinidad Basin Mine, formerly the I~1 Agua Mine is approximately six <br />miles test of Ludlow and has been in existence since 1977. <br />In order to satisfy Rule 2.05.5(1)(b) of the above regulations, <br />Trinidad Basin Mining must contact the surface owners of the land <br />within their permit boundary and solicit cocmients on the proposed <br />post mining land use. 7.'heSefore, 'IYinidad Hasin Mining is seeking <br />your cortments on the proposed post mining land use detailed below. <br />A speedy reply to this request would be most appreciated, as Trinidad <br />Basin Mining intends to submit the application by February 17, 1981 <br />to the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division. <br />Trinidad Basin Mining intends to return the land to rangeland <br />and wildlife habitat upon cUnq~letion of mining.
