SPMUEL MAIO <br />Planning and Land Use Office <br />Ias Animas County Courthouse <br />Room 104 <br />Trinidad, Colorado 81082 <br />RE: Trinidad Basin Mine, Ias Animas County <br />Application to Mined I,^~ l~clamation for a coal <br />Mining Permit <br />Dear Sam, <br />Trinidad Basin Mining, Inc. is in the process of developing a permit <br />application to demonstrate ca~q~lianee with the Regulations of the Colorado <br />Mined Land l~clamation Board for mal Mining and the provision of the <br />Colorado Surface dal Mining Reclamation Pct in order to continue their <br />surface m;n;nq operation. As you ]mow, the Trinidad Basin Mine, formerly <br />the Del Agua t9ine is approximately six miles west of Ludlow and has <br />been in existence since 1977. <br />In order to satisfy Bile 2.05.5(1)(b) of the above regulations, <br />Trinidad Hasin Mining must contact those agencies or persons with <br />interest in the post m;n;nq land use of the mined area. Your agency <br />falls into the above category and therefore Trinidad Basin MirLing is <br />seeking your oomrents on the post mining land use detailed below. <br />A speedy reply to this rP~111P$t would be most appreciated, as Trinidad <br />Basin Mining intonrlc to svYrnit the application by February 17, 1981 <br />to the Colorado Mined Land t~clamation Division. <br />~inidad Hasin Mining intends to return the land to rangeland and <br />wildlife habitat upon oca~q~letion of mining.
